Get cookingHi there! Rachel here—Events Manager at Culinary Artistas. As an event professional, I find it essential to stay on top of fun food trends, get creative with events, and bring fresh, unexpected ideas to keep guests excited and entertained. While cheese and wine is a classic pairing, have you ever considered the unique combination of cheese and candy as a non-alcoholic option? It may sound unusual, but I have a few delightful pairings for you to try. You might just find your mouth watering!
Brie & Dark Chocolate
Let’s start simple. Creamy Brie paired with rich dark chocolate creates a luxurious combination. The bitterness of the chocolate complements the creaminess of the Brie perfectly. If you find it too bitter, add a hint of sweetness with some raspberry jam.
Blue Cheese & Salted Caramel
I know, it sounds crazy! Blue cheese is polarizing, but if you love it like I do, try pairing it with salted caramel spread. It’s funky, sweet, and salty—think of it like blue cheese on a date, but with a burst of sweetness.
Gouda & Milk Chocolate
Gouda has a nutty flavor that pairs surprisingly well with sweet milk chocolate. This combination offers a delightful mouthful. I also like to add a few peanuts or almonds to enhance the texture.
Goat Cheese & Gummy Bear
For a playful twist, try tangy goat cheese with fruity gummy bears. The sweet and sour profile of the candies contrasts beautifully with the creamy cheese, creating a fun snack.
Cheddar & Peanut Butter Cups
This is my personal favorite! Sharp cheddar cuts through the sweetness of chocolate and peanut butter cups, resulting in an addictive treat. It’s a bold pairing that will keep you coming back to the plate.
Parmesan & Toffee
The sharpness of Parmesan cheese pairs wonderfully with the caramelized crunch of toffee. I promise you’ll be impressed!
At Culinary Artistas, we believe the kitchen is a space for learning and exploration. Don’t hesitate to experiment! Mixing unexpected flavors and textures can lead to delightful discoveries. So grab your favorite cheeses, some leftover Halloween candy, and let your taste buds lead the way!
